As overheard by another resident in my hostel - New Zealand heating (or lack of!)
“Has this country not heard about heating yet?”
[All the buildings still seem to have single glazing windows and a severe lack of insulation. Along with the fact that I have a little electric heater that's on a 20-minute timer to heat my room, you can guess this place isn't the warmest! Considering I heard from Andy and Maeve, two friends from home who lived here for 9 months, about this situation (Maeve described wearing her down jacket indoors....) at least I was prepared for it :) ]
